It all started with this piece of Marc Jacobs polka dot fabric I purchased from Mood. I sat on that fabric for a good two years before I found a pattern that I thought would look fun with a polka dot print.
The fabric found a home in one of Colette’s patterns. If you are unfamiliar with Colette patterns, they are an independent pattern company that excels at creating easy to make classic, retro inspired pieces.
Piece by piece, it came together…
I love how it turned out! It’s cute and fun. It’s got a sailor vibe going on, even though I’m in the middle of the desert.
My sweet friend, Alex, was kind enough to snap some pictures of me in her lovely backyard. What I love most are all the different backgrounds in one garden! Can you see the chicken coop in the middle picture? Classic Tucson.
